In order to promote the circulation and use of knowledge, based on international open access standards and open science practices, the National Infrastructure for Access to Scientific Information (INA) was established. INA is a public system with national scope, driven by ANID, whose main challenge is to democratize access to and use of scientific knowledge by the CTCi community, civil society, the government, industry, and the general public. It aims to reduce inequality gaps, respond to regional demands, and promote decentralization. Additionally, it faces technological and organizational changes, such as the operation of repositories, the use of information software, data and metadata interoperability, cultural transformation, training of various stakeholders, and the design and implementation of institutional policies.

This model includes the Support Network, which was created through an agreement between ANID, the CINCEL Corporation, and public and private universities to implement a pilot of the National Access Node. Its purpose is to foster a cultural shift in how knowledge generated with public funds is accessed, managed, and used, enhancing the role of university libraries. This benefits the research community by increasing efficiency in research processes, boosting productivity by avoiding duplication of existing work (data and information), and promoting intra- and interdisciplinary collaboration with local and global impact, thereby increasing the visibility of scientific output.

Through this system, the ANID Repository becomes the main national infrastructure for capturing, preserving, and providing access to scientific production generated in the country, interoperating with other information systems from higher education institutions and research centers.
