Nodes

A federated infrastructure based on national nodes

LA Referencia is currently composed of ten Latin American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay) and one European country (Spain). These countries have national nodes that in turn group various local repositories, mainly from universities.

Following LA Referencia’s technical standards, the networks in each country serve as effective bridges for integrating content into the Scientific Document Search Engine. In some countries, the nodes are operated by the national science and technology agency, while in others they are managed by a university consortium or academic network.
